Discover World Class Adventure In Wisconsin? I Have Adventured To Exotics And Breath-Taking Wilderness Locations Around The World, Like Cradle Mountain In Tasmania, And Can Say, I Have Discovered And Experienced Such A Caliber Class, Spectacular World Class Wilderness Location In Wisconsin.
Once-Happening Spectacular Winter Wonderlands ------ Winter In Wisconsin Brings Ever-Changing Landscapes Daily - Creating Spectacular And Very Unique One-Of A Kind And Once-Happening Winter Wonderlands. From Spectacular White Forests Of Snow, To Awesome Ice Caves. I think The Most Spectacular Are The World Class Ice Caves Along Wisconsin's North Shores On Lake Superior. If You Are Lucky, You May Discover And Experience A Ice Palace As I Have - It Felt As If I was In A Si-Fi Movie On A Different Planet!
Experiences That Only Happen By Snowshoe ----- I Have Experiences Emotionally Moving Moments In Deep Wisconsin Wilderness That Can Only Happen By Snowshoe. Within A Few Minutes Of The Milwaukee Metro Area, A Person Can Experience Hiking At The Top Of Snow Covered Cliffs Over Looking Lake Michigan With Its Specular And Ever Changing Icescapes. Going West To Brookfield's Is Michel Park Wetland Wilderness Where A Pair Of Snowshoes Can Take You Into A Frozen Swamp Forest For A Very Unique And Tranquil Experience. Head 15 Minutes From Milwaukee's West Boundary To The 'Lapham Peak' State Park To Experience The Feeling Of Being In A Snow Covered Tall Evergreen Forest Without The Need To Drive 8 Hours Or More North To Wisconsin's Remote Wilderness. And For The Ultimate Winter Wonderland Wilderness Experience, Head To The Apostle Islands, Where You Can Experience Conditions Reassembling Wide Open Frozen Ice, Winter Caves, And The Most Unique And Ever Changing ICE Caves! All This Must Be Experienced On-Foot In-Silence, By Using A Pair Of Quality Snowshoes As A Technical Means To Getting Into These Remote Locations - Where Car, SUV, Or Snow-Machine Cannot Get To, Or Would Destroy The Moment And Snowscape.
Fluff Travel Articles "Place To Snowshoe In Wisconsin" ----- The Internet, Travel Magazines And Tourist Outlets All Seem To Copy Each Other's Words And Stories Just To Produce Content To Help Sell Advertising. In The Real World, Using Snowshoes Can Be A Necessity For Living Everyday, Or To Conduct Work On The Job. Snowshoeing Can Be A Hobby Or A Play-Time Activity For Kids And Adults. There Are No Special Skills, And There Is No Special Requirement For Using Snowshoes In Any Special Area Or Trail. The Sport Of Snowshoeing Has Become A Marketing Method To Sell More Snowshoes And May Be Misleading Potential New Users Into Believing They Are Only For The Sport Of Snowshoeing. Snowshoes Can Be Made For Many Purposes And Used Where There Is Snow. Wisconsin Public Access Lands, Parks, Wilderness Are All Great Places To Consider, When Just Looking To Snowshoe For The Experience Of Using Snowshoes For Creation Or Fitness.
Wisconsin Snowshoe Types ----- First, We Start With A Mutually Understood Defined Meaning For The Word "Snowshoe". Snowshoes Are Devices Intended To Provide Personal Aid In Walking More Efficiently And Comfortably Over Snow Covered Terrain. More Effective Snowshoes Are Devices Which Have Been Designed, Engineered And Developed To Enable High Efficiency And Sure-Footing. High-Performance Snowshoes Are Those Engineered And Developed Over Time For Optimal Performance In All Snow Conditions, Without Slipping On Frozen Snow And Ice Covered Surfaces And Be Comfortable And Natural To Walk In, Run, Jump, And Climb. Next, Consider The Terrain In Wisconsin; It Is Mostly Rolling To Flat; Gradual Sloping Hills And Valleys. Along The Great Lakes, Are Vertical Terrains, Boulders, And Sheets of Broken Ice Can Be Encountered. Forest Present Tightly Spaced Small Trees And Heavy Thick Shrubs. Therefore, All Types Of Snowshoes Are Valid Considerations For Use In Wisconsin. Make Your Selections Based On The Main Activity And Purpose Of Using The Snowshoe. Even When Just Buying Snowshoes AS a Novelty Toy, Why Waist Money On Something That Will Not Properly Give You A Quality Experience? We Provide You With A Prequalified Selection Of Quality Products We Would By Ourselves. When Buying For Children, Or Yourself As Novelty Toys, Remember There Are Online Free Selling Websites And We Will Always Be Interested In Taking Back Your Product At Anytime After Your Purchase As A Buyback Or trade-In Value! Casanova's, Trusted Since 1930.
Buying, Renting - Making Your Choice/Choices ----- Owning Several Different Snowshoes Is Absolutely The Correct, When Considering Renting Or Outfitting Yourself, Family, Outfitting Group, Expedition, Or Work Force To Meet Proper Needs Specific To Each Application.

Snowshoeing at its best can be found on
the John Muir trails, which include 5
loops that range from .4 to 10 miles.
Three leatherleaf bogs, 3 ponds, miles
of southern hardwood forest, and pine
plantations provide plenty of
opportunities to explore and enjoy.
There are many other areas for the
snowshoe lover to explore such as the
Emma Carlin trail, the 5-mile
connector trail that connects the Muir
with the Carlin trail systems. Do not
forget to explore the 30 miles of linear
Ice Age Trail that follows through the
Southern most end of the Kettle Moraine
to the Northern most point of the
forest. Snowshoeing is prohibited on
groomed ski trails that include the
Nordic, McMiller, and Scuppernong Ski
trails.

Once designated to be a jet fighter
base, Richard Bong State Recreation Area
is fittingly named after Major Richard
I. Bong, a Poplar, Wisconsin, native who
was America's leading air ace during
World War II. The project was
abandoned three days before concrete was
to be poured for a 12,500-foot runway.
Local citizens had the foresight to
protect this open space for future
generations. In 1974 the state
bought the land and it became the
state's first recreation area.It's
about 47 miles from Milwaukee, 71 miles
from Chicago, and 362 miles from
Minneapolis.
The recreation area is open daily
from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Office hours vary
with the season; see our
current conditions page.
